MEANSVILLE - The next Pike County American Legion 5K/10K Fun Run/Walk will be held in Meansville, Georgia on Saturday, 19 June 2021. This event is Post 197’s third Run/Walk in Meansville and our twelfth overall in Pike County. The start window is between 7:30 to 10:00 am, and there is a choice between a 5K (3.1 miles) or a 10K (6.2 miles) course. Early registration fee is $25, and the deadline is June 11. Late and day-of registration is $35. Everyone who registers receives an event T-shirt.
The Run/Walk is a charity event to benefit our American Legion Veteran and Community programs while at the same time providing a healthy event for the community. If you are an avid runner, you can use this event as an interesting workout for your running program. The courses are marked with mile markers. The 5K course is generally flat. The 10K has a major hill (gradual going up and steep going down. Both courses contain paved and dirt roads. There are no restrictions on strollers and dogs on leashes. This year, truck and through traffic has been detoured around Meansville so traffic will only be local.
