ZEBULON - Pike County Times Editor Becky Watts has begun painting rocks and hiding them in Pike and surrounding counties.
The rocks have phrases like "Keep your sunnyside Up," "You are enough," or other encouraging words for those who find them. And some are painted whimsically like an M&M with a bite gone from its side!"I love to paint, and I love to see people smile," said Watts. "This is the best of both worlds."
Rocks are painted with a note on the back that tells finders to go to the Zebulon Rocks Facebook page to let people know that the rock was found. Finders can either keep the rock or share their smile with someone else by hiding it in another location.
Watts leaves clues on her Instagram account PikeCountyTimes for those who like to hunt for rocks. Rocks have been hidden in Zebulon at the J. Joel Edwards Public Library, Fast Lube, United Bank, First Bank of Pike in Zebulon, 1828 Coffee Company, the Courthouse, Southcrest Bank in Thomaston, and the 19-41 Waffle House in Griffin.
