Truck Strikes House in Zebulon Earlier This Week

ZEBULON - On Monday, March 11 around 12:15 p.m. a truck driving toward Zebulon on Old Meansville Road ran off the road, hit some mailboxes, broke through a chain link fence and ran up on the porch at 566 Old Meansville Road. The truck traveled approximately 1/8 of a mile from the roadway to the house.

Cpl. Jason McClung of the Georgia State Patrol advised that when Zebulon Police Department responded to the call, 50 year old Brian Potts from Meansville was slumped over the steering wheel when they arrived.

Potts was charged with driving under the influence (toxicology has been sent to the GBI Crime Lab to determine exactly what he was under the influence of at the time of the wreck), no state tag, no insurance, failure to maintain lane, driving while license suspended, and no seatbelt.

Cpl. McClung advised that Potts has been arrested for driving on a suspended license seven times. The oldest charge was on June 6, 1994 and the most recent was October 9, 2014.

There were no injuries and no one was in the house at the time of the wreck. Potts was subsequently transported to the Pike County Jail.
