GRIFFIN - 9 year old Kyra was diagnosed in December with leukemia. She is a 3rd grader at a local school in Griffin. Jodi Bounds works at the Zebulon Road Waffle House in Griffin and is putting together a couple of really cool fundraisers.
First, she made some Easter baskets that she is raffling off. $1.00 for 1 ticket, $5.00 for 6 tickets, and $10.00 for 12 tickets. The drawing will be on April 2, and the Jodi will contact the winner by phone. You do not have to be present to win. Kyra is planning to be there for the drawing at the festival that will be held at Waffle House on April 2.
There will be a festival for Kyra at the Griffin Waffle House by Ingles on Friday, April 2. (Kids will be out of school that day for Good Friday.) Fun will include buying pies to throw in your favorite Waffle House employee’s face, and there will be plastic eggs with prizes in them for sale for $1 each. All of the money raised will go to Kyra in her fight against leukemia. The festival will begin at 2:30 p.m.
Because Kyra has leukemia, she won't be able to accept any hugs right now. Her immune system also needs anyone who wants to speak to her to wear a mask when you get close. Thanks for understanding!
