Pike Voters Can Vote In Person or By Absentee Ballot

ZEBULON - Pike County Chief Registrar Lynn Vickers advised by phone today that absentee ballots have been going out to residents all over the state since April 21. A mass mailing began on that day and then go out each evening after receiving notification from the Pike County Registrar’s Office each day.

The process works by absentee ballot applications either being mailed or faxed to the Pike County Registrar’s Office. Applications can also be placed in the drop box at the office by the Sheriff’s Office. They then input the information into the system for the State of Georgia Secretary of State’s Office to process. The ballot is them placed into the mail and could take up to ten days to reach the requestor.

Over 2,800 ballots have been requested for Pike County voters so far. There are over 13,500 voters total in our county.

Chief Registrar Vickers advised that if you ask for an absentee ballot and decide to vote in person, that can still be done. However, you must bring your absentee ballot with you to vote in person so your ballot can be cancelled and you can vote on the machines in the office or on election day.

Voting absentee in person will begin on May 18. The mandatory Saturday vote day will be on May 30. And Election Day is on Tuesday, June 9.

Voters can look at a sample ballot online at https://www.mvp.sos.ga.gov/MVP/mvp.do. Ballots that can be requested include a Republican, Democrat, or Non-Partisan.

If you have any questions, please contact our Registrar’s Office at 770-567-2003. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office is located at 81 Jackson Street, Zebulon, Georgia 30295.
