20th Annual Tour De Pike To Be Held on March 18th

ZEBULON - The 20th Annual Tour De Pike will be hand on Saturday, March 18, 2017 starting at 92 Main Street in Concord, Georgia. The Pike County Kiwanis Club is providing a 19, 35, 65, and 100 mile tour of beautiful Pike County for cyclists from near and far to enjoy.

The Pike County Kiwanis Club gives back to the community by donating 100% of all money raised during this event into the community and programs benefiting children. According to their website, “Our Kiwanis programs include activities and financial contributions supporting math and reading merit awards, Gordon State, Southern Crescent scholarships, donations to FFA, 4H Club, Chorus, FERST Foundation, Back to School Bash, REACH After School Program, Boy Scouts and the Eliminate Program.” 20 years of giving back to the community is a legacy to be admired!

There are several routes to choose from including a 19 mile, 35 mile, 65 mile and 100 mile tour of Pike County. Check in will begin at 6: 30 a.m. with kick off at 8 a.m. There will be a police escort for the first several miles and at each major road crossing.

SAG vehicles will be available to offer assistance, refreshments will be served at each stop, riders registered by March 3rd will receive a t-shirt to commemorate their ride, and the after-ride buffet meal will be served until 2 p.m. at the Concord Café.

There is even overnight lodging this year that will be hosted by Boy Scout Troop 37 out of Meansville at the historic R. F. Strickland Building located in downtown Concord. Check in will be from 5 to 10 p.m. with lights out at 10:30 p.m. There is plenty of room for cots and sleeping bags, and the building has bathrooms and a kitchen—though there are no showers. The Boy Scouts are even selling dinner for a donation on Friday night and camping includes a continental breakfast.

You can read more details by clicking here. There is a link to sign up here as well. Get ready, set, and go check out the 20th annual Tour De Pike!
