Nazarene Church Is Collecting Items for Alabama Tornado Victims
Barnesville Church of the Nazarene Is a Local Collection Site
Opportunity to Be a Disaster Response Volunteer

ZEBULON - The Church of the Nazarene is working together state-wide to collect and deliver items to those in Alabama affected by the storms of March 3, 2019. Landmark Church of the Nazarene in Phenix City, Alabama is serving as a resource center, with Pastor Andy Rutherford serving as coordinator. They are willing to redistribute supplies and provisions that are donated.

Pastor Kevin Thomas from Barnesville Church of the Nazarene is the Georgia District Nazarene District Response Coordinator. He advised that Lee County, Alabama has put out the following notice for those wanting to help there: “We will be unable to utilize citizen assistance until the Red Cross has come and assessed the situation. Once that process is completed, however, we will rely heavily on volunteers to assist us with relief. We grieve and extend our condolences to those in Beauregard and other portions of Lee County who were injured or lost their lives.”

Items that they are asking for at this time include:
Blankets
Diapers
Wipes
Bottled water
Formula
Baby food
Snacks
Bottles
Baby wipes
Toothbrushes (individually packaged)
Toothpaste
Toiletries
Sleeping bags
Backpacks
Socks (New in the package)
Underwear (New in the package)

Note for Nazarene Churches: We also need Crisis Care Kits (CCK) ASAP. If you can assemble them and get them immediately to the collection centers designated across our District, we can deliver them immediately to the affected areas. These are desperately needed Immediately. The need for them diminishes greatly after a week or two. Any unused CCK’s will be taken to the District NMI Convention to be delivered to the Fawn Grove Collection Center. SPECIAL NOTE from Pastor Kevin: "If you could possibly get these supplies to the Barnesville Church of the Nazarene, 744 Hwy 341 South, Barnesville, GA 30204, I could get them to the affected areas ever so much faster."

In addition, the following Collection Sites have been established in various regions around the state:

Dalton First Church of the Nazarene, 2325 Chattanooga Road, Dalton, GA 30720

Georgia District Office, 50 Lincoln Road, Suite B, McDonough, GA 30253

Barnesville Church of the Nazarene, 744 Hwy 341 South (Veterans Parkway, Barnesville, GA 30204

Adrian Camp and Conference Center, 37 Meeks Road, Adrian, GA 31002

Albany First Church of the Nazarene, 1411 Liberty Expy. SE, Albany, GA 31705

Pastor Kevin has led Disaster Response Teams to areas affected by flooding up north and by hurricane down south and is looking to do the same again very soon. “I am tentatively planning a Disaster Response Project in Lee County, Alabama for March 14 -16, 2019. Please contact me if you are interested,” he said. You may contact him by phone at (931) 261-9409 or kevin@barnesvillenazarene.com for his email.
