ZEBULON - Spectrum will be having a sign-up event on May 3 on the Square to sign people up for internet services. It will start around 10 a.m. at the Pike Chamber of Commerce and roll through around 1 p.m.
The first phase of the project should be completed mid to end of May. The second phase will be for the places on the outskirts of the square and depends on how much interest there is for signing up.
“I will be taking addresses and names to put on the list for the second phase. I need the addresses so I can get it started. The majority of the work has been done so it shouldn’t take too long to get the second phase done.
“Come out and join me and let’s get your address on the list,” Scotty said. “Our speeds go all the way up to one gig per second.”
“I’m so glad we can get y’all better services for internet out there and hopefully more competition for internet. Hope to see everyone there,” he said. “And thank you to the City of Zebulon for this opportunity.”
Spectrum internet lines are going in the ground north and south of Zebulon, and more than 50 businesses have signed up for high speed internet.
The second phase will reach out to homes in Zebulon within a 2 mile radius from the square and down Hwy 19 as far north as Ace Hardware and around the business park going south.
Come ask questions and sign up at May 3 at 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pike Chamber of Commerce in Zebulon. The Chamber is located on Hwy 19 south side of the square with parking in front, side, and back of the building.
