GRIFFIN - Sheriff Wendell Beam Reports: On July 1, 2015, an undercover drug investigation concluded with the arrests of 20 people. The investigation was conducted by the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit and assisted by members of the Griffin Police Department’s Narcotics Unit. The investigation focused on the sale and possession of methamphetamine. The investigation revealed a widespread network of people receiving and distributing the methamphetamines which resulted in the charge of Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (R.I.C.O.), and the use of telecommunications devices.
