Local Republican Parties Work Toward November Election

ZEBULON - While the mid-term election is on the horizon, the Pike County Republican Party continues to stay engaged. The last meeting hosted the following speakers...

1) Tricia Pridemore, Public Service Commissioner & Republican Nominee - Ms. Pridemore shared about the services of the Public Service Commission and her statewide campaign. While there are three candidates from the Libertarian Party, Democratic Party, Tricia is the only candidate for the Republican Party. She discussed the oversight role of the utilities regarding Georgia Power, GE, solar energy sources, and other energy sources. She also spoke of her commitment to public service.

2) Brad Vaughan, Pike County Planning and Zoning Director spoke of his new role and how he is available to hear any discussion about new developments in Pike County. "The door is always open!" While he had an extensive career in the private sector, he returned to the region to care for his parents. He brings private sector and government insight into his new role.

3) Ken Pullin, District 131 House Republican Nominee shared how important it is to communicate regarding the gubernatorial race and support Brian Kemp. He encouraged others to contact their friends who had voted in the Presidential Race a few years ago to make sure they go to the polls and vote again for the gubernatorial.

4) Blake Blantley, Representative for Jim Beck, Candidate for Insurance Commissioner shared his confidence in Jim's personal life and family and professional commitment to public service.

In addition, on August 22, several Pike County GOP members and citizens attended an event in Griffin to support Congressman Drew Ferguson from Georgia's Third Congressional District. This event took place at the Griffin Welcome Center and was hosted by Middle Georgia GOP Plus, including the Republican Parties from Pike, Lamar Upson and Spalding Counties.

Participants enjoyed barbecue, crudites, fresh fruit and received an update on Congressman Ferguson's commitment to Technical Schools, Transportation and other current issues. He provided and update on the activity at the United States Capital. Even more compelling he answered questions about the upcoming Gubernatorial election in Georgia. He emphasized his support for the Trump administration, free enterprise and his own support for Veterans.

Other political candidates and leaders that were there included House Representative Karen Mathiak & House Representative Republican Nominee Ken Pullin.
