ZEBULON - Pike County is showing its support for our veterans by lighting county buildings with green lights as part of Operation Green Light from November 7 through November 13, 2022. This is a nationwide effort to let our veterans know that they are seen, appreciated, and supported.
Home and business owners can support Operation Green Light by changing exterior lights to a green bulb. Pictures can be shared on social media using the hashtag #OperationGreenLight.
Everyone is invited to the Pike County Veterans Day Observance Program on Friday, 11 November 2022 at 11 a.m. on the Courthouse Square in Zebulon. It will be hosted by the Pike County American Legion Post 197 to recognize and honor America’s military Veterans, extend our Nation’s appreciation, and pay tribute to all deceased Veterans. Please join the community as we say “Thank you” and show our appreciation to current active duty military, and Veterans past and present, for defending the freedoms that we enjoy today. Seating is limited so the public is encouraged to bring their lawn chairs. PLEASE NOTE: Inclement weather location is the Mount Gilead Baptist Church.
