Sheriff's Office and Fire Reports from Around the County

ZEBULON - The Pike County Sheriff’s Office has received reports of mailboxes that were vandalized over the weekend. One mailbox on West Road and two on Wright Road were hit by something. These were reported on November 21. Anyone with information can call investigators at the Sheriff’s Office at 770-567-8431. Tips can be made anonymously.

There was a fire at 141 Second Street in Concord on November 22. The home was abandoned, and there were no injuries. The cause is undetermined at this time. Photos are courtesy of the Pike County Fire Department.

There was also a wreck involving a vehicle and a log truck at Hwy 18 and Hollonville Road on November 22 around 6:20 p.m. According to the Sheriff’s Office, a 2004 Lexis driven by Gregory George, 57 years of age from Peachtree City, was attempting to turn onto Hwy 18 from Hollonville Road and was struck by the log truck. There was no transport or report of injuries. Gregory George was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol with a minor child in the vehicle. He was charged with DUI, Child Endangerment, and Failure to Yield.
