Moody-Daniel Funeral Home Assisting with Operation Toy Soldier

ZEBULON - Moody-Daniel Funeral Home in Zebulon will be celebrating their second year assisting with “Operation Toy Soldier,” a holiday toy drive that gives back to the local community’s service men and women and their families. As a partner of Veterans Funeral Care, Moody-Daniel Funeral Home supports Veterans and their families in any way possible to thank them for their service.

Christmas time is all about giving and all about the smiles on children’s faces. What better way to serve our Veterans than by ensuring their children have gifts for Christmas. Terrell Moody, Funeral Director of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home, whose father served in Europe in WWII, states “What makes this toy drive different is that this is program for local enlisted service men and women. All of the toys are for families in our community.”

This year the toys collected will be given exclusively to families of soldiers from the Georgia National Guard Armory in Griffin. They will be personally delivered before Christmas. The drive begins November 1, and will run through December 21. Boxes printed with toy soldiers and camouflage will be placed at Veteran’s Auto Service in Griffin, Griffin Waypoint Veteran’s Center, Griffin Kiwanis Club, Griffin Moose Lodge, Roses in Griffin and Barnesville, Motor Max in Griffin, Brian Brakefield’s State Farm Insurance in McDonough, Pike County American Legion Post 197 in Zebulon, and Moody-Daniel Funeral Home in Zebulon.

Footballs and soccer balls are a big hit. Barbie Dolls and coloring books are huge. If your child would like it, other children will love it too.

Moody-Daniel Funeral Home invites you to donate new, unwrapped toys to this great cause or consider placing a collection bin in your place of business. If you would like to participate, please call the funeral home at 770-567-8642 to receive a collection box at your place of work.

Moody-Daniel Funeral Home appreciates all support and donations to this campaign. The history of “Operation Toy Soldier” can be found at operationtoysoldier.com.
