ZEBULON - Throughout the month of August the J. Joel Edwards Public Library partnered with Books-a-Million in Griffin for a book drive to increase its library holdings. At the register, customers were provided the opportunity to support the library by purchasing a title that was specifically requested by the library or by choosing one of their own. The library received 108 new books, a total value of $1,531.
“The Pike County library works to support literacy and reading among adults and children,” said Wendy Sikes, General Manager of Bookland, North Griffin Square. “We are excited about replenishing their library with donations through this book drive.”
Library manager Rosemary Bunn added, “It is heartwarming to see such community support for our library. We thank everyone who donated and look forward to adding these new books to our collection.”
