Two New Programs for Children at the J. Joel Edwards Library in Zebulon

ZEBULON - The J. Joel Edwards Public Library announces two new free programs for youngsters that began this month. /p>

In response to parent requests, beginning on Monday, February 3, the library will launch Rockin’ Readers, a story time program designed for children in grades K-4 who are able to attend programs alone. Parents should remain in the building, however, and enjoy the plethora of library amenities. Children are invited to join Mrs. Kim every Monday at 3:30 p.m. in the library meeting room for stories, music, crafts, and more! No registration is required.

The Cooking for Kids Program will launch on Saturday, February 22. Class time begins at 1:00 p.m. Led by veteran educator Helen Carter, this class is designed for children ages 4 and up. This hands-on monthly program will teach young participants to make healthy foods while learning important cooking skills.

Because the foods prepared during this program will be made using small appliances, a parent or guardian will need to participate along with their child. Registration is required one week before the scheduled program date. This program is free and open to the public, and all materials are provided.

For more information, call the J. Joel Edwards Public Library at 770-567-2014.
