Library Offers Free Legal Forms

ZEBULON - Georgia Public Library System (GPLS), in partnership with U. S. Legal Forms, now makes available to all PINES library patrons access to thousands of legal documents which can be accessed online from home, at the public library, or on any mobile device. This valuable, time-saving resource is designed to be used in conjunction with the advice of an attorney.

Gale LegalForms helps patrons understand common legal procedures through access to authentic, professional legal documents. It is the only electronic reference to offer legal forms that are truly state-specific.

The site includes not only a multitude of GA and federal legal forms, but also links to legal definitions, tax forms, an attorney directory, and legal Q&A. Forms are available in PDF and Word format. Some may be filled in online, while others need to be printed first.

The Galileo site may be accessed easily through the icon on the Flint River Regional Library site, frrls.net. “Once you are in Galileo,” explains library assistant manager Emily Evans, “go to Databases A-Z and then click on the letter L. The link to LegalForms (Gale) will appear below.”

Patrons can also view sample forms to see the specific wording and exactly how the forms were filled out. Some of the forms allow for rewording, additions, and deletions, but any information that must remain in a precise legal format cannot be changed.

“Whether a patron is seeking help with real estate agreements, wills, or tax forms, almost everything can be found on Gale LegalForms,” says Evans. “We do need to caution people, though, not to ask us for legal advice, since we are not attorneys.”

“One of our goals at the library is to empower the individual,” adds library manager Rosemary Bunn. “The Galileo site is only one of many amenities provided free of charge with your (very powerful) PINES library card. Although it is easily accessed, Galileo does require a password, which can be obtained at the library.”

For more information on Gale LegalForms, visit the J. Joel Edwards Public Library during regular business hours: MWF 10-5, TTH 10-7, and Sat. 10-3.

Galileo may be easily accessed through its icon on the Flint River Regional Library site frrls.net. From the Galileo home page, chose Databases A-Z and click the letter L. The icon for LegalForms (Gale) and its accompanying link will appear on the left.
