Thank You to the Pike County Community from The Pike County American Legion Post 197

To Pike County and surrounding areas:

The Pike County American Legion Post 197 thanks all those who sponsored, supported, volunteered, and participated in the 5 May 2018 Meansville 5K/10K Run/Walk Benefit for Veterans. The City of Meansville was a gracious host and we had beautiful weather. The Pike County Times and Pike County Journal Reporter were avid promoters of our event. Village Photography produced an awesome T-shirt with a caricature of the old Meansville train depot / current city hall.

Post 197 thanks the Meansville Volunteer Fire Department, Mangham Tractor Services, Moody-Daniel Funeral Home, The Narrow Path Ministries International, Pine Valley Concrete Company Inc, Stewart’s Tree Service, V. Sharon Jones MD, Ranger Propane, Smoots, TenCate Protective Frabrics, Village Photography, A Novel Experience, City of Meansville, Concord Manor & Winery, Mountain View Convenient Store, M & B Porta Potty, Pike County Journal Reporter, Pike County Times, Pike Firefighters Museum Inc, Southside Steel Inc, TnT Christmas Tree Farm, and Zebulon DQ Grill & Chill for sponsoring our event.

Deceased Veterans honored were Glenn R. Abbott, Lawrence E. Brock, Drexel Daniel, James D. Huckaby, Ray Johnson, Charles L. Moody, Jr., Jim Runyon, Enoch T. Weeks, and Rex J. Yerkes.

The Pike County American Legion Post 197 conducts Programs that help honor Veterans; assist Veterans and their families; and educate the community on Veterans affairs and patriotism. Sponsorship and event participation allows Post 197 to continue these programs.

The next 5K/10K Run/Walk will be conducted in the great city of Concord tentatively set for a Saturday in August 2018, pending the City’s approval. We are working to make this another enjoyable event. More information will be provided in the future.

Again, thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, and participants for your continued support to these community events.

Sincerely,
Bryan D. Richardson, Pike County American Legion Post 197 Commander
