ATLANTA - Sen. Marty Harbin (R – Tyrone) released the following statement on the recent federal executive order on religious freedom: “With President Trump's signing of an executive order to continue to strengthen protections for religious freedom in this country, our state of Georgia has fallen further behind the times in defending the crucial human right that is religious freedom.
Our state should not be on the wrong side of history. Our state should not be the last one to defend the religious liberty of all our citizens.
I am reminded that there is still much work to do, especially at our state's level, to defend our religious liberties. I and my colleagues will continue to work towards the time that all Georgians are protected by the laws of this state.”
