By Guest Columnist Bill Bryant

GRIFFIN - The Griffin Choral Arts Children’s Chorus will present a Spring Concert of specially chosen selections on Saturday, April 29, at 3:00 p.m. at Griffin First United Methodist Church, 1401 Maple Drive. The Griffin Choral Arts Children’s Chorus made its debut in December 2016 during Griffin Choral Arts (GCA) Tenth Anniversary Season.

The Griffin Choral Arts Children’s Chorus, under the direction of Dr. Stephen J. Mulder, is assisted by Tracy Threlkeld and accompanist Julia Chang. Griffin Choral Arts aspires to enhance the cultural life of Griffin and surrounding communities by presenting a variety of choral music programs at the highest artistic level. Encore! Griffin Choral Arts Spring Concert
By Guest Columnist Bill Bryant

GRIFFIN - Celebrate the basic pleasures of life – springtime, food, wine, and love – with Griffin Choral Arts (GCA) as compelling selections from Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana are presented and accompanied by two pianos and percussion ensemble. Encore, the final concert of Griffin Choral Arts Tenth Season will be presented on Thursday, May 4, in the Fine Arts Auditorium at Gordon State College (GSC) in Barnesville, GA at 7:30 p.m.

Former GCA accompanist Seth Davis will be a special guest performer. The GCA Children’s Chorus will participate, making a cameo appearance toward the end of Carmina Burana.

Since “O Fortuna!” (the opening movement of Carmina Burana) has been quoted and imitated on countless movie soundtracks and television commercials - you may recognize that favorite theme!

Concert tickets may be purchased in Griffin (Safehouse Coffee Roasters, Artistic Flowers & Gifts or Griffin First United Methodist Church), in Barnesville (Goggans Florist) or Zebulon (A Novel Experience). Other options include the GCA website or at the door, on the evening of May 4. General admission tickets are $15 each.
