GBI Announces Promotion of Deanna Jury to Assistant Special Agent in Charge

DECATUR - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announces the promotion of Deanna Jury to Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) of the Columbus Regional Investigative Office, also known as Region 2. ASAC Jury will be responsible for assisting the Special Agent in Charge with daily operations and supervision of Special Agents assigned to the office.

ASAC Jury began her law enforcement career with the Columbus Police Department in 2004 as a patrol officer before being hired as a special agent with the GBI in 2007. ASAC Jury has held assignments with the GBI as a Special Agent at the Columbus and Americus regional investigative offices. ASAC Jury is a member of the Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Georgia Association of Women in Public Safety, and is a Georgia P.O.S.T. certified instructor.

ASAC Jury graduated from Columbus State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice in 2004. She has called the West Georgia area home for the last 20 years.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is comprised of four divisions: the Georgia Crime Information Center, the Crime Lab, the Investigative Division, and the Legal Division. The GBI has just over 900 employees and a budget of $147,482,036. ASAC Jury is assigned to the Investigative Division.
