PIKE COUNTY - There are several roads closed in Pike County right now. It appears that north west part of Pike County was hit hardest with major flooding.
Roads that are closed include the following:
Milner Road about 1/4 mile off of Bottoms Road
Turner Road between Milner Road and Concord Road
Turner Road about 1/4 mile north of Hollonville Road.
All are totally underwater. They will be closed until water recedes and Public Works can inspect them for safety.
UPDATE FROM THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE AT 11:30 A.M.
The following roads are currently closed in Pike County due to the heavy rains:
Second District road - west of Chapel Hill Road
Hunter Road
Greene Street - just south of Highway 18
Milner Road - north of Bottoms Road
Turner Road - east of Concord Road and north of Hollonville Road
Bethany Church Road - between Jonathans Roost Road and Dunbar School Road
The roads are currently being monitored but there is no current time frame for reopening of these roads.

Melville Brown Road
Hunter Road
Bethany Church Road at Dunbar School
Green Street
West Road
ALL have major flooding, and we are putting barricades up to warn citizens of danger. Roads are rough but passable. If citizens cannot get home, they need to contact 911 and they will notify us.
Citizens may have to take alternate routes to get home. These issues cannot be resolved until flooding subsides, and it will not be a quick fix in most cases so please be patient.
If citizens cannot get in or out from either direction of their driveways, please call 911.
If you see a road that is underwater, please turn around and drive another route because you have no idea what the roadway looks like under the water. Stay safe!
UPDATE FROM PUBLIC WORKS AT 2:45 P.M.
There are five roads that are completely closed due to culvert issues. Bethany Church at the Spalding County line is closed, Bethany Church a 1/4 mile west of Hutchinson Road is closed, Hunter Road at Beaver Swamp about midway between Melville Brown and Patton Road is closed, Milner Road a 1/4 mile off Bottoms Road is closed, and Fossett Road about 1/4 mile off Roberts Quarters is closed.
All of these will remain closed until at least middle of next week.
