PIKE AND GRIFFIN - A Public Safety Notice about flooding on the Flint River has been issued tonight. According to the press release, flood stage for the Flint River is 12 feet, but it will begin rising to a possible water level crest of 19 to 20 feet from Friday, September 27 through Tuesday, October 1.
Residents along the Flint River should remain aware of rising water levels as well as possible closures and possible evacuations. This affects Pike County residents as well.
Spalding County and Pike County EMA's are working together to provide important updates and notices as they become available.

The Highway 16 roadway and bridge are being closely monitored by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).
Pike County could be affected by these closures as well.
