Thanks for Supporting the Pike County and Meansville Fire Departments

ZEBULON - The Pike Volunteer Emergency Services Booster Organization (PVESBO) hosted a fundraiser this summer to purchase needed items that may not be covered by the county budget for our volunteer fire department. This is a program that has been in place for many years. Representatives of Excalibur Central, LLC knocked on doors in the county on the behalf of the Pike County Fire Department and Meansville Fire Department to ask if residents would like to support the fire departments with a $40 tax deductible donation and receive a coupon for a free family portrait. Donations of any size were accepted for the fire department through PVESBO.

The 2016 fundraiser was a success and PVESBO, the Pike County Fire Department and Meansville Fire Department are grateful for the support of the community during this fundraiser and throughout the year.

Each year the departments decide whether to use the funds collectively for more expensive items that support firefighting or evenly distribute the funds at the station level for purchase of station specific needs. In the past, Pike County and Meansville Fire Departments collectively have purchased thermal imaging cameras, gas leak detectors as well as a CASCADE System which is a refill station for SCBA air cylinders. This year the funds will be distributed at the station level to purchase smaller items.

Picture Fundraiser Is Ongoing for the Pike County Fire Department

ZEBULON - Pike Volunteer Emergency Services Booster Organization (PVESBO) will be hosting its annual Picture Fundraiser to raise funds for needed items that may not be covered by our county budget for the Pike County Fire Department. This program has been in place for the last several years.

A representative of Excalibur Central, LLC began knocking on doors asking for donations for the Fire Department on Friday, July 29, 2016 and is still knocking on doors in September. For a donation of $40, you will receive a coupon for a free 10x13 family portrait. Donations are tax deductible, and you will be able to choose picture packages on the day of your portrait sitting.

These pictures will be taken at the Zebulon Opportunity Center located behind Zebulon City Hall as they have been in the past. You will be called with appointment dates at a later time. Donations of any size will be accepted for the Fire Department through PVESBO.

In the past, the Pike County Fire Department has bought thermal image cameras and gas detectors along with CASCADE System to refill air cylinders. The stations can also buy smaller items that are needed for their stations with these funds.

If you have any questions on this fundraiser or would like to donate and Excalibur Central LLC has not been to your house yet, please contact Teri Totten at 770-468-8633. Look for more information on this county fire department fundraiser on Pike County Times!
