WILLIAMSON - At approximately 1:30 pm yesterday, a Southern Rivers employee saw lightning strike the house on Shady Creek Trail when responding to a power outage call in the area. He called 911 stating smoke was coming from the roof.

Pike County Fire Department responded. Spalding County Fire Department responded with mutual aid.

Geographic location hindered water supply and there are no hydrants in the vicinity. The home is a total loss.

No animals or humans were harmed during the incident.
