CONCORD - At approximately 2:45 pm, February 14, 2024, Pike County Fire Department personnel responded to reported structure fire at 3255 Robert’s Quarters Road.

The smoke plume could be seen from miles away. Flames had broken through the exterior of the structure and were visible from the road.

Firefighters were on scene til after dark. Meansville Volunteer Fire Department assisted on scene. Mutual aid was received from Meriwether County Fire Department and Upson County firefighters.

Approximately 40,000 gallons of water was used to extinguish the fire. The residents lost everything including a family pet. The fire is believed to have started in the garage.
