ZEBULON - Pike County voters chose their candidate in the Presidential Primary and gave a yes or no vote on the $5.8 million SPLOST for road, street and bridge improvements here in Pike County. Pike County Times is reporting from the Pike County Courthouse tonight both online and by radio for WTGA Fun 101.1 Thomaston radio.

There are 9,548 registered voters in Pike County. 5,065 voters made their voices heard in this election to give Pike County a 53.05% voter turnout.
In the Democratic Primary, Hillary Clinton brought in 417 votes with 68.36% of the vote and Bernie Sanders brought in 187 votes with 30.66% of the final vote. In the Republican Primary, the top four contenders are as follows: Ben Carson brought in 451 votes for 10.23% of the vote, Marco Rubio brought in 677 votes for 15.26% of the vote, Ted Cruz brought in 1,195 votes for 27.11% of the vote, and Donald Trump brought in 1,930 votes for 43.78% of the vote.
The SPLOST vote was an overwhelming yes for repairs to Pike County roads and bridges. There were 3,697 yes votes and 1,298 no votes. The final total on the SPLOST was 74.01% to 25.99%.
