Incident at El Charro Sends Three to Hospital and Two to Jail

ZEBULON - On January 23, 2017 at approximately 2104 hours, The Griffin Police Department responded to the parking lot of El Charro Mexican Restaurant in reference to a vehicle striking 3 subjects.

Upon arrival it was determined that a white PT Cruiser that was driven by a white female backed into two subjects in reverse and then ran into a third subject while traveling forward leaving the parking lot. In addition, there were two passengers in the PT Cruiser.

Witnesses stated that the three subjects said some derogatory remarks toward a female in the parking lot when her male companion confronted them in an attempt to fight whoever was saying the derogatory remarks. A knife was seen on the male companion which resulted in one of the subjects in the PT Cruiser brandishing a gun.

The three subjects got into the PT Cruiser and then backed up in an attempt to leave the area subsequently striking two subjects in reverse and then the male companion while moving forward. All three victims were transported to Spalding Regional Hospital.

The three subjects in the PT Cruiser were later found by the Griffin Police Department’s C.A.G.E. unit and officers from the Uniform Patrol Division at 104 Mace St. Griffin Georgia then transported to the Spalding County Jail. Upon further investigation Tristan Monfort was charged with Reckless Conduct and the driver of the PT Cruiser Jaslyn Lee was charged with failure to report an accident with injuries.
