PCMS Cross Country Dominates Henderson

ZEBULON - The Pike County Middle School cross country team hosted Henderson Middle School from Jackson in its first ever home meet in school history. The meet was held at the Pike County recreation facilities.

The girls took to the two mile course first and after the first half mile never looked back. The girls defeated Henderson by 24 points The Lady Pirates placed all six runners in the top eight with Anna Chasteen taking top honors followed by Railee Wilson second place and Lauren Smith third. Victoria Roark was fifth, Peyton Bussell sixth and Harley Clay eighth.

The boys continued the day’s domination by defeating Henderson 30 points. The Pirates placed all nine runners in the top eleven places. Brannon Lopez finished first followed by Garrett Child second, Landon Anderson third, Cooper Hanson forth with Noah Strader sixth, Ethan Odum seventh, Brayden Keiser, ninth, Tyler Landry tenth and Brandon Scott eleventh.

The team has continued to improve its times throughout the season in hopes of securing a league championship. The Lady Pirates are undefeated while the Pirates have finished no worse than second.

Top
