Help Wanted: City of Concord Searching for City Clerk

CONCORD - The City of Concord is searching for a new City Clerk. Below is a list of responsiblities and qualifications needed to perform this job as well as an email address to send your resume and employment history.

CITY CLERK

SUPERVISOR: MAYOR

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Clerk to City Council, Mayor, maintains all records and documents, receives, and disburses funds. Responsible for maintaining accounting systems.

Accounting Clerk Responsible for performing routine clerical account and bookkeeping tasks. Performs responsible accounting work in maintaining all governmental financial records.

Election Superintendent: Accept qualifying for candidates’ application for Mayor and Council offices, coordinate with Pike County registrar for each election. Submit and maintain Mayor and Council Campaign Contribution Disclosure and Personal Financial Disclosure Report records to ethics committee.

Responsible for the administration of the finances and coordinates all financial activities for the city. Responsible for managing information systems activities and ensuring government’s computers, networks, and information systems are efficient, functional, technically sound, and up to date. Performs duties in the preparation of payroll and required reports.

Zoning Administrator: Issue applications and permits for all zoning in the city.

City Clerk is expected to attend City Council Meetings (recording minutes) and Work Sessions which are scheduled in the evenings 1 day a month.

Candidate Qualifications:

• Experience in Business Management, Project Management, or a closely related field required; with a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a related field; or equivalent training, education, and/or experience required to perform the essential functions of the job.

• Experience with automated software such as Microsoft Office, financial software, utility billing software is expected.

• State or National Certification as a local government clerk is highly desired.
