GRIFFIN - Griffin Choral Arts (GCA) is pleased to announce it has received a $1,500.00 grant from the Barnesville-Lamar Community Foundation. These funds will be used to support the Encore! Spring Concert as part of GCA’s Standing Ovation Tenth Anniversary Season.
This concluding Spring Concert will be held on May 4, 2017 at Gordon College’s Fine Arts Auditorium. Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana will be accompanied by two pianos and percussion ensemble. Seth Davis, GCA’s founding accompanist, is scheduled as a special guest. GCA’s Chamber Choir will perform works by Brahms. “This grant empowers us to present this large-scale work for voices, piano, and percussion ensemble in Barnesville—a town that represents an important part of our singing membership and our audience,” said Dr. Stephen Mulder, Artistic Director of Griffin Choral Arts.
The Barnesville-Lamar Community Foundation awards annual grants through a competitive application and review process. Grants are conferred to organizations for projects in Barnesville, Lamar County, and the immediate surrounding area. http://cfcga.org
