ZEBULON - According to the Chief of Police J. Hemphill on Saturday January 19th, 2019 the Zebulon Police Department come in contact with a male subject named Hunter Keith Rakestraw failed to stop at the red-light while driving a 2012 KIA optima located at Thomaston Street and Barnesville Street. Upon making contact with the driver Hunter Rakestraw Sgt. C. Tillery and Officer K. Lynch detected a strong odor of Marijuana coming from the vehicle.
A probable cause search of the vehicle was then conducted and officers did locate approximately 3.5 grams of loose marijuana and also located in a back pack was 180 individual boxes of butane hash oil (aka DAB). Each box had a 1 gram container of the oil and all the oils were at least 90% THC.
The driver was then charged with Failure to obey a traffic signal, Possession of Marijuana less than 1oz and Possession of Butane Hash Oil (aka DAB) with intent to distribute. Hunter Rakestraw was turned over to the county jail.
