Local Brownie Troop Earns First Aid Badge

MEANSVILLE - The Brownies from Troop 13344 out of Meansville worked to earn their First Aid Badge on Monday, May 4, 2015 with Pike County Emergency Services fire personnel Doug and Anita Neath.

Doug Neath gave them a class on how to stop bleeding and how to do chest compressions and basic CPR if they were to ever need it in an emergency situation. He also showed them the equipment that he carries in his emergency bag and told them what it is used for in emergency situations.

The girls also got to check out the fire truck and several dressed out in Anita's fire gear. (See picture below.) "They were very inquisive and asked a lot of questions and seemed to really enjoy it," said Anita Neath.
