BREAKING NEWS: Arrest Made in Hit and Run Incident

MOLENA - Pike County Sheriff's Office Traffic Investigators have made an arrest in the hit and run that occurred Saturday night. Carlene McDowell, from Molena, has been charged. A 2004 Dodge Durango was located at her residence that had damage coinciding with evidence from the collision scene.

It was determined that Ms. McDowell had been operating the vehicle at the time of the collision. She has been charged with failure to report accident with injuries, failure to maintain lane and leaving the scene of an accident. A bond hearing has not been held yet in this case.

BREAKING NEWS: Pike Sheriff's Office Asking for Help with Hit and Run Incident
UPDATED With a New Vehicle Description

CONCORD - The investigation into a hit and run that occurred Saturday has continued and the suspect vehicle has been narrowed down to a 2004-2005 Dodge Durango. Investigators have not been able to determine the color of the Durango at this time.

The original description given to Deputies has shown to be inaccurate through evidence left at the scene. Damage to this vehicle will be on the passenger side and/or front of the vehicle. [Note from the Editor: The original article is included below this article.]

Pike Sheriff's Office Asking for Help with Hit and Run Incident

CONCORD - Pike County Sheriff's Office Traffic Investigators are asking for help from the public in locating a vehicle that was involved in a hit and run late Saturday night.

Shortly before midnight on Saturday night, a pedestrian was found on the side of Highway 18 near Oxford Circle. The victim had been struck by a vehicle after her car broke down and she was walking to get assistance.

The vehicle that struck her did not stop at the scene and is described as possibly a dark in color Chevrolet Tahoe that was towing a trailer behind it. [Note from the Editor: The information on the type of vehicle has been updated according to an investigation of the scene of the accident.] The vehicle should have damage to the passengers side.

The victim was transported by ambulance for medical attention and is currently undergoing treatment.
