ZEBULON - Pike County High School's Pirate Regiment, led by Band Director Mr. Lee Ewing, concluded their band camp this past Friday. This year's performance is titled "The Greatest Thing You'll Ever Learn," featuring various showtunes, including "Rewrite the Stars," "Fly Away/Come What May," "Your Song (percussion feature,)" and "Once Upon a Dream," with Colorguard choreography by the Colorguard instructor, Ms. Lania Taylor.
This season's Pirate Regiment is 61 members strong, with new Drum Major Jessica Ridley and new Colorguard Captain Mackenzie Haver.
The Pike Country Pirate Regiment will also host their first annual "March the Plank" marching band competition at the Pike high school football stadium October 6th, featuring high school marching bands from around the state. This family-friendly event is open to the public, for a small entrance fee, with a variety of vendors and concession stands available.
