Pike County Celebrates Baccalaureate with Graduates

ZEBULON - Prayer Power of Georgia and Oak Hill Baptist Church sponsored the 2016 Pike County Baccalaureate Service for all graduating seniors again this year. This was the third year to sponsor this service and all graduates were invited to this enlightening, encouraging, and spiritually rewarding service.

"The Oak Hill Baptist Church provided a beautiful setting and Gordon Powers along with the Oak Hill Praise Team were wonderful with their music and words," said organizer Ben Maxedon. "Mr. Howard Johnson brought an inspiring and powerful message of truth about how to live our lives as a Christian in the world: Trust God, work hard, and do the right thing."

"We had an outstanding Baccalaureate Service for the Pike County Graduates," said Maxedon. The service was dedicated to Dr. William Bell who passed away the week before. Dr. Bell was a dedicated educator in Pike County for years. Chaplain Maxedon extended thanks to Brent Fortson and Clay Chasteen for their music and prayers.

Above all, Maxedon said, we are grateful for the graduates that were there to celebrate this spiritual beginning to their graduation week. We are also very thankful for all the families, friends, and the community that were there to help give these young adults the honor and recognition they deserve.
