2018 Pike County Baccalaureate Service Was Held

WILLIAMSON - The 2018 Pike County Baccalaureate Service was held at 5 p.m. (graduates should be present by 4:30 p.m.) on Sunday, May 20 at Oak Hill Baptist Church located at 100 Lakeside Drive in Williamson. The message was given by Pastor Josh Gilliam from Second Baptist Church and Special Music was presented by the Oak Hill Praise Team.

Graduates came to the service in their cap and gown and brought their family with them. The community attended this special celebration as well. This Baccalaureate was sponsored again this year by Prayer Power of Georgia and Oak Hill Baptist Church.

Pastor Josh Gilliam encouraged the graduates in his message. He said that we are being led by our convictions and that is much more than just choosing what is right for you at the moment. "Our beliefs should guide our behavior," he said, "because they (our beliefs) are deeply held." Conviction also guides how we think and it is deepened by knowledge. He told graduates that we need to be people who are guided by our beliefs and convictions.
