Arrests Made In Fraudulent Check Cashing Scheme

ZEBULON - Pike County Sheriff’s Office Investigators have made several arrests and will make more in a recent fraudulent check cashing scheme. Counterfeit checks were cashed in banks both in Griffin and Thomaston that were portrayed to be Pike County payroll checks.

The forged checks were even complete with signatures of county officials. A total of ten checks were cashed by nine different individuals for a total of $9360.

As of today three of the suspects have been arrested. It has been determined that the suspects are being paid by a third party to cash the checks. Investigators are working to identify the third party involved.

The following suspects have been arrested:

Gerald Glenn, 56 years of age,identity fraud
Deaunte Grannum, 22 years of age,identity fraud
James Turner, 57 years of age, identity fraud

Warrants are outstanding on the following individuals:

Gerald Antoni, 54 years of age, - identity fraud
Diablito Wade, 39 years of age, identity fraud
Pierre Young, 22 years of age, identity fraud
Tereze Fortson, 27 years of age, identity fraud
Vernando Smith, 48 years of age, identity fraud
Rashon Mitchell, 36 years of age, identity fraud
