Southern Crescent Sexual Assault and Child Advocacy Center Receives National Accreditation through National Children’s Alliance

SOUTH METRO ATLANTA - Southern Crescent Sexual Assault and Child Advocacy Center has received National Accreditation from the National Children’s Alliance. As the accrediting body for Child Advocacy Centers in the United States, National Children’s Alliance (NCA) is at the forefront of national and international conversations on child sexual and physical abuse. NCA serves as the principal agent of change by leading the Child Advocacy Center (CAC) movement, engaging lawmakers, funders, and other decision-makers in conversations about the current state of child sexual and physical assault.

Southern Crescent Sexual Assault and Child Advocacy Center (SCSAC-CAC) is a Georgia 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that collaborates with law enforcement, social service agencies, medical professionals, school personnel, court personnel, and volunteers working to provide much needed services to victims of sexual assault and child abuse. Services include: 24-hour Crisis Line, Forensic Medical Examinations, Evidence Collection, Victim Advocacy, Medical and Legal Accompaniment, Child Advocacy Program, Individual Counseling, Support Groups, Community and School Prevention Education Programs, Professional Development Workshops, and a Resource Referral Network.

“Over the past 23 years, our agency has worked diligently with our community partners to provide specialized services in an effort ensure that all victims of sexual assault and child abuse received the services they deserve,” said Gayla Nobles, Executive Director at Southern Crescent Sexual Assault and Child Advocacy Center.

In 2016, SCSAC-CAC provided victim services to 3,364 individuals. All services and programs are provided free of charge to victims, their non-offending family members, and the communities served. SCSAC-CAC currently operates offices in Clayton County, Henry County, and their newest facility located in Coweta County. Southern Crescent Sexual Assault and Child Advocacy Center has a designated service area of: Henry, Clayton, Fayette, Spalding, Pike, Lamar, Upson, Butts, and Coweta counties, however, services are never denied to anyone in need. SCSAC-CAC also holds state accreditation through Children’s Advocacy Centers of Georgia.
