ZEBULON - PCREA held the 1st meeting of the 2025-2026 school year on September 22nd at our new location. Our meetings will now be held at: Pike County Community Center, 603 Twin Oaks Road in Williamson, Georgia 30292. This is right beside the PIKE COUNTY RECREATION SOCCER FIELDS.
There were 35 members present. President Mike Beres called the meeting to order. A beautiful DEVOTION was given by Jamie Crawford entitled "Keeping the Vision" that is in line with GREA's new theme for this school year.
Barbara Messer had previously posted the MINUTES from our last meeting.
Tracy Sessions gave the TREASURER'S REPORT.
Brenda Mathes from our SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE updated the status of the 3 scholarships PCREA gave last school year.
OLD BUSINESS
GREA now has a new director for our area, Mr. Johnny Smith.
Ms. Geraldine Reid is the new president of GREA. Again, our new theme is "KEEPING THE VISION" with the focus on aiding Children's Healthcare of Augusta. Ms. Reid is seeking members interested in a T-Shirt Design Contest.
NEW BUSINESS
On September 30, 2025 the PROCLAMATION will be signed for the upcoming RETIRED EDUCATORS DAY that will be on November 2nd. We hope local churches will participate in recognizing the Retired Educators in their membership.
GREA will give a gift of $250.00 toward "treating" some chosen Pike Couty teachers this school year.
Members were asked to wear pink in honor of Breast Cancer Month.
In November Kay Barnett will be heading up decorating the window of our local public library, J. Joel Edward's in Zebulon. ,/p>
Barbara Messer presented a gift to Diane Beres who was President of PCREA for the past 2 years.

Members of the FRAUD DEPARTMENT of United Bank in Zebulon gave us so much information about fraud and tips on how to prevent it.

We surely were treated to a great lunch by our new caterers Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Landry, the new owners of Ruth's Restaurant.
