WARM SPRINGS - James Fowler is a Pike County historical reenactor who has brought history to life at The Little White House for many years.
These are pictures from this year's Thanksgiving and Christmas programs.
November 12 was the special celebration for Thanksgiving. "For many years, FDR would come to Warm Springs to celebrate Thanksgiving with the polio patients and staff," said Fowler. "His radio address would be broadcast to the nation from Georgia Hall." About 50 people attended the Thanksgiving program.
December 10 was the special celebration for Christmas. "Today was special," Fowler said. "I read the story A Christmas Carol and the poem ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas as FDR did to his children and grandchildren. There was a special appearance from Santa near the end of the program. Christmas music was provided by local musicians as well as arts and crafts for the children. Although the day was gray our hearts were warmed by the spirit of the season."
Fowler performs at The Little White House several times during the year.
