BREAKING NEWS: Storm Rolls Through Pike; Not as Bad as It Could Have Been

ZEBULON - Pike County dodged a bullet last night. There have been reports of strong winds, some rain, and even some hail, but a call to the Pike County Sheriff's Office today advised that 10 reports of limbs or trees blocking different roads was as bad it got.

There was a report of a structure fire in Concord that was attibuted to a lightning strike. Pike County Fire Department personnel responded to Harris Street in Concord and found flames coming from the attic of a detached garage/carport. The fire contained to building of origin and extinguished by fire personnel. No one was injured.

All in all, it could have been a whole lot worse. And at least some of the county got some rain last night even if it was a small amount.
