BREAKING NEWS: Storm Brings Rain and Closed Roads to Pike County

ZEBULON - A storm system came through the state overnight that brought enormous amounts of rains to Pike County bringing down trees, downing powerlines in Pike and surrounding areas, closing roads, and closing the Pike County School system as well as schools in neighboring counties.

Rainfall totals given to Pike County Times ranged from three inches in the north part of the county to more than six inches in the southern part of the county.

Pike County Ga EMA representative Jim Totten advised the National Weather Service that these roads will be closed until at least tomorrow afternoon. Some may open tomorrow after work is done to them. Roads are being added to this list as needed.

Scott Road is closed where the asphalt and dirt meet
Friendship Circle between Pedenville and Hood Road
Turner Road between Concord Road and Milner Road
River Road between Highway 362 and Gaulding Road
Daniel Road
Hunter Road
