CONCORD - Sometime around 5:45 a.m. on January 3, 2023, a series of storms swept through the state dropping massive amounts of rain and causing damage in some areas.

A tractor trailer was overturned by a strong wind that knocked down some trees in one area, flipped the truck, and took shingles off a house on Turner Road.

EMA Director Jim Totten advised that the National Weather Service said this was not a tornado, but it was a strong thunderstorm with 40 to 60 mile per hour winds that did the damage.

No one was injured.
