BREAKING NEWS: Robbery Occurred at First National Bank In Griffin Today

GRIFFIN - On Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at approximately 9:15 a.m., officers of the Griffin Police Department responded to First National Bank, located at 1475 W. McIntosh Road, Griffin, Georgia, in reference to a report of an armed robbery.

Officers on scene were advised that there was a black female that had entered the rear door of the bank wearing a disguise. The suspect then approached the counter and demanded money from the tellers while holding a weapon. The bank robber is described as being between 5’00” and 5’05” in height, weighing 130 to 140 pounds, dark complexion, and having an accent. The suspect fled the scene on foot heading northbound with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The Griffin Police Department is actively working this incident. If anyone in the area witnessed anything suspicious that may possibly be related to this case, you are asked to contact the Griffin Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 770-229-6452.
