ZEBULON - Investigators with the Pike County Sheriff’s Office were able to track down inmate Jason Goolsby after he walked away from his work detail on Thursday.
With the assistance of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit, he was located hiding in a wooded area behind a residence in Monroe County on Friday. Goolsby has been returned to the Pike County Jail where he faces an additional charge of felony escape.
Investigators have continued to work on the circumstances surrounding the escape of inmate Jason Goolsby. Stephanie Bell, from Monroe County, has been arrested and charged with aiding the escape of Goolsby.
The investigation has shown that Bell traveled to Zebulon and picked up Goolsby a short time after he left his work detail.
This incident continues to be an active investigation and further detail will be released when appropriate.

ZEBULON - Inmate Jason Goolsby walked off of a morning work detail this morning at the Pike County Sheriff's Office.
He was incarcerated for drug offenses. Deputies are actively working to return Goolsby to jail.
"We have had no reported sightings of him, and it is quite possible that he was picked up in a vehicle and has left the area," said Major David Neal.
Goolsby had just been sentenced to a drug treatment program through the state of Georgia and was awaiting transfer to begin his court ordered drug rehabilitation program.
