BREAKING NEWS: Early Morning House Fire Claims Two Lives

MOLENA - An early morning house fire on Short Cut Road in Molena resulted in two pediatric fatalities this morning.

The initial call went out around 3:25 a.m. with the fire being extinguished shortly thereafter.

Please keep this family in prayer.

Major David Neal of the Pike County Sheriff’s Office advised that the Fire Marshall’s preliminary investigation shows that the fire is accidental. The full investigation will be released at some point in the future. The GBI is also conducting an autopsy that will be released in the future.

The Pike County Sheriff’s Office released the following statement: “Pike County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a house fire on Short Cut Road last night. We are saddened at the loss of two young lives. Sheriff Thomas, and staff, would like to convey our thoughts and prayers for the family during this difficult time. We are also thankful for all of the emergency personnel that responded to this incident and the efforts put forth by them during this tragic event.

The State Fire Marshall office has responded to the scene and is conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire.”
