BREAKING NEWS: Here Are Your Candidates for the 2018 Election!

ZEBULON - The week of qualifying has come to a close.

The two seats for Pike County Board of Commissioners that will be on the ballot are District 1 Tim Daniel and District 2 Tim Guy. Both Tim Daniel and Tim Guy qualified with no competition so they will go back into office in January.

The three seats for Pike County Board of Education that will be on the ballot are Board of Education District 1 G. Ryan Edge, District 2 Allen Edwards, and District 6 Fred Blackmon.

Each of these candidates will be sworn into office in January because they have no competition in the Primary: District 1 G. Ryan Edge, District 2 Allen Edwards, and District 6 Floyd Jerome Miller.

In the State Representative District 131 Seat currently held by Incumbent Johnnie Caldwell, the following people have signed up to run for this seat: 1) Chris Benton, Telecommunications, Democratic Party www.chrisopherbenton.us 2) Johnnie Caldwell, Attorney, Republican Party 3) Ken Pullin, Software Consulting, Republican Party www.pullinforgeorgia.com.

In the State Senate District 16 Seat currently held by Incumbent Marty Harbin, the following people have signed up to run for this seat: 1) Bill Lightle of Fayetteville, Writer/Retired Teacher, Democratic Party 2) Marty Harbin, Incumbent of Tyrone, Insurance Agent, Republican Party www.votemartyharbin.com 3) Tricia Stearns of Peachtree City, Realtor, Republican Party votetriciastearns.com/.

May 22, 2018 is the General Election Date where a winner will be determined between the Republican and Democratic Candidates on the ballot. You must be registered by April 24, 2018 to vote in the May Primary and subsequent Runoff. The Runoff Date, if needed, is July 24, 2018. And the General Election Date is November 6, 2018.
