BREAKING NEWS: Results from the District Attorney Race

ZEBULON - 3,204 voters made their voices heard in the election tonight here in Pike County. There are 14,017 active voters in Pike County.

These are the results from the District Attorney Race from Pike County. Candidates are Incumbent Marie Broder (R) and Challenger Dexter Wimbish (D).

Pike County unofficial results from Pike Voting in Person and Absentee: Marie Broder-1,264 and Dexter Wimbish-164.

Pike County unofficial results at 50% of our total votes: Broder-2,039 and Wimbish-222. [Note from the Editor: Several precincts have come in, and this is everything together rather than breaking it down by precinct like we used to do.]

Pike County unofficial results at 100% of our total votes: Broder-2,923 and Wimbish-281.

3,206 total ballots were cast; however, there was one spoiled ballot and one write in vote for an unqualified candidate where someone typed in a vote for someone who was not on the ballot. Thank you to everyone who cast a ballot in this race!

The Secretary of State reported the following overall results: Incumbent Marie Broder recieved 21,295 votes and 73.03% of the total vote and Challenger Dexter Wimbish received 7,866 votes and 26.97% of the total vote. Marie Broder is the winner of this race.
