BREAKING NEWS: Truck Backs Into Dollar General in Concord

CONCORD - Around 8:08 p.m. last night, Pike County personnel were dispatched to the Dollar General in Concord to respond to a private property accident. Pike County Fire Department personnel arrived to find a truck had backed into the wall of the Dollar General.

According to the report filed with the Pike County Sheriff's Office, Lorna Crom from Meansville stated that her accelerator got stuck when she was backing away from the west side of the building and this caused the truck to make a u-turn into the building with the rear end of the 2006 GMC Canyon.

Personnel from the Fire Department supervised the removal of the truck from the building around 9:27 p.m. The vehicle suffered extensive damage.

The Pike County Fire Department spokesman Anita Neath advised that the driver was not injured, and no one inside the store sustained injuries. The damaged area has been secured until repairs can be made to the building.

The Pike County Sheriff's Office is waiting on the total damage estimates from this accident. More photos beneath the article.
