BREAKING NEWS: Gunshot Wound Results in Drug Arrests

MOLENA - Early Tuesday morning, an individual with a gunshot wound that occurred in Pike County was reported to be at Upson Regional Hospital. Deputies responded to meet with the individual and were told that the person, Michael Moore, had sustained an injury to his leg from an accidental discharge of a .40 caliber handgun while at a residence.

Deputies went to the address of 50 Hill Street in Molena to investigate the events leading up to Moore being shot in the leg. While at the residence evidence of illegal drug activity was noted and a search warrant was obtained by narcotics investigators to further search the property.

The search turned up methamphetamine, scales, packaging material and several firearms. Three additional individual were at the residence and determined to be involved in the use and/or distribution of methamphetamine.

The resident, Kenneth Trice (age 32), was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and two counts of possession of a firearm during commission of a crime. The other three individuals were charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession a drug related object. They are identified as William Pearcey of Greenville (19), Michael Clark of Zebulon (25) and Michael Moore of Molena (age 18).

The gunshot wounds received by Moore were determined to be accidental.
